Have had this app since it was 5 bucks
I got a free upgrade from the old version to this one with voice guidance for life and maps. It`s the best for offline use
I hope they fix this
I`m coming from Copilot v 8 No. America which worked very well. I`m on iPhone 4 with iOS 5. After 3 queries to alk support with incomplete answers to questions I had, I mistakenly decided to upgrade. Yes I`ve only used this new version a couple of days, but am very disappointed in it.
First off the 3D map completely disorients itself when u stop at light.
Secondly the compass pointer only works intermittently. I like to have it point to north all the time. The only place I found to set this up is in the 2D setup. Most of the time that can`t be adjusted (the compass marker in ver 8 worked great & visually was much better)).
3. In the 2D map, regardless of how u set up the heads up-north up display the map again is totally disoriented. I like the highlighted street I`m driving on to be in the direction I`m going. It`s not. In other words it`s totally useless. And the compass pointer when it is there is fixed and neither points north or to the direction I`m going.
Lastly. When I arrived at my destination a message popped up stating that I`ve arrived at my destination. It didn`t announce it. Totally unacceptable & unsafe to boot.
If u go to ALK`s web site there`s little help addressing these issues and I see that others have similar issues.
I really liked Copilot No. America v 8 & was hoping this would be just as good.
It`s possible I`m over reacting & I`m just missing something here so ill give it a couple of weeks & see what happens. Perhaps an update will come out & address these issues. In the meantime I would wait if others are considering this upgrade. I`m rooting for you ALK.
Previous versions were much better
I have to reboot my phone a couple times to get the voice part to work, otherwise it is silent. Watching it say what my next turn is, that street not only is mislabeled but doesn`t exist by that name. If the voice does not work and I am supposed to look for a street name that does not exist, this app is useless. I deleted all versions of copilot. Not happy at all.
